Museum Quality Amboss Danube 7000 Set of 8 Steak Knives by Janos Megyik
This is an iconic and very desirable mid-century modern design, created by the famous artist and sculptor János Megyik for Amboss in 1970. This pattern is known as Design 7000 or Danube. These are from the original production in Austria, and were made between 1970 and 1976. (After that, production was moved to Germany.)
I also have many more pieces available in this pattern. Please inquire.
This beautiful set of knives appears unused and is packaged inside an original box for A.J Van Dugteren & Sons, who was the US importer for Amboss. The box is labeled “A Van Dugteren Import.“
Each knife is about 8-1/4" long. Made with high quality stainless steel. The handles have an elegant brushed satin finish, while the blades are polished bright. They are marked "AMBOSS NEUZEUG / STAINLESS MADE IN AUSTRIA." Each piece is hand-finished and shows very minor variations. Excellent condition, with only the most gentle signs of handling.
This set will look fantastic in the finest collection.
